Find me on Soletron.com

What’s going on, guys? Just wanted to tell you all that I’ve been invited to be a guest blogger on Soletron’s blog. Not familiar with Soletron? To put it simply, Soletron has done what I’ve always wanted to do only on a MUCH larger scale. And that’s create awareness of the smaller underground brands that everybody should be aware of. Soletron is a collective of the some of the best underground brands available today. If you’re not convinced, check out Soletron for yourself and shop around. I’m almost positive there’s going to be something you’ll like. Who knows? You might find a new brand you’ll want to follow.

As for me, on occasion I’ll be posting updates on Soletron’s blog. When I do, I’ll post the link on my blog so you can make the jump over to theirs.

So until then, CapTrackers… Keep an eye out…

Frank151 contest: Foto151 – Daily Instagram photo contest -AND- More of Lex’s personal cap collection

What’s going on, CapTrackers? Just a little heads up on what I’ve been up to. As some of you may have heard, Instagram was recently made available for Android phones. I, like many, many others, hopped on the Instagram train the second I got wind of this. I saw this as an opportunity to try my hand at Frank151‘s latest Instagram contest called Foto151. (Click the image above for more details.)

I’ve done as many of the topics as I could and it’s been a pretty fun experience so far. Tomorrow’s topic is something I’ve really been looking forward to. Tomorrow’s (April 15th) topic is going to be “Collection.” I’ve been waiting for this day because I know exactly what I’m going to be posting for this topic. I’ll give you a hint… It’s something that I’m quite proud of and is the main reason I started this blog.

So for those of you readers that are curious to what my collection looks like, you’ll get a peek at it tomorrow via Instagram. If you’re on Instagram, feel free to follow me @captracker. If you do follow, it’d be cool if you could “Like” tomorrow’s picture. It doesn’t really matter in deciding that day’s winner, but it will boost my ego a bit. Until next time… keep an eye out…

The new and improved Xel Creative Shop (New products)

Wow… Nearly 6 months since my last post… After I specifically said I’d try to update more often. Once again, my bad…

Anyways, as some of you may have known I’ve tried my hand at screen printing my own tees. That’s what has been taking the blunt of my time during these past couple of months. Bad news is that it didn’t go too well… I’ll spare you the details and say that I’m not going to be printing any shirts myself anytime soon. My heart goes out to those who do this professionally everyday.

But just because my attempt at printing was a fail doesn’t mean that I thought my designs were. So I did the next best thing. I had a professional printer do the printing while I did the designing. Easy as that. I found a GREAT printer in my area who also owned his own underground brand called Gorilla Fist. Homeboy has been in the industry for over 7 years and knows how to design and print quality apparel.

With all that said, I can guarantee everyone that the designs in the shop (seen above) are all professionally made and ready to swag out. Shop with confidence, my friend. Check them out! I was even blessed enough to get my homegirl, Roxy Ayala, to showcase them for you. Show her some love and keep up to date with all her events.

Until next time, CapTrackers. Keep checking here for any Xel Creative updates and hopefully some ACTUAL CAP UPDATES! We’ll see…

Keep an eye out…

Next stop… Orange County, CA

After a great trip to San Fran, I’ve now moved my way down to the OC to visit my cousin, Kfresh. He’s an aspiring photographer on his way to making a big name for himself in the photo industry. Although that being the main reason, the OC is also a prime location for anybody who’s planning on visiting LA and SD. An hour to LA and an hour and a half to San D? Can’t beat that!

Also, I’ve recently befriended an underground brand that’s also making it’s way up in the ranks of the fashion industry. Neurotic Minds Exposed is an Orange County based name that you should keep an eye on. Visit the site and see what they’re all about.

As for me, I’m going to try to see what I can accomplish in this area as well as its surroundings. There’s so much to do and so many places to visit. Time is the major factor here. I won’t be able to visit the majority of shops around here, but I’ll try my best to get as much as I can. I’ll try to keep you guys as informed as possible, but that’s a long shot. Regular posting should resume on the 20th of this month, but that’s being lenient. I have a couple of videos to edit when I get back home. So it might take a little longer than that. Whatever…

So until next time, CapTrackers. Keep an eye out…

Next stop… San Francisco, CA

What’s going on, CapTrackers? It’s that time again. I’m going on another trip! Come May 25th, I’m heading back to one of my favorite cities. Beautiful San Francisco. My FT job has been stressing the shit outta me and I needed a break from the monotonous daily grind. And what better way to unwind than with boutique hopping in a city that’s chock full of EXCLUSIVE schwag? The perfect place for cap collecting!

My plate’s going to be pretty full when I’m down there, so I won’t be posting for quite a while. I’ll try my best to post periodically, but I can’t make any promises. There’s just so much to do in only a five days’ span. There WERE eleven places I was going to visit, but apparently HUF closed down and is only in LA. So without further ado, here’s the list of places I’m tripping down to.

Fatlace
Fully Laced
Benny Gold
The Hundreds
HUF
Upper Playground
Kidrobot
FTC
Black Scale
True
The Darkside Initiative

Keep that list handy just in case you decide to stop on by San Fran and need to get fitted. This isn’t a COMPLETE list, so don’t think these are the only shops in the area. I’m sure there are TONS more. You just get off your ass and find them. ;)

Till next time, CapTrackers. Keep an eye out…

My first G-Shock (GA-110C-1A)

image

I’ve always wanted a G-Shock but never got around to getting one. Why? Because there are just so many flavors out there that I couldn’t figure out what I wanted. Well, my search ended yesterday. Pictured above is what I got. And I’m rockin’ it proud! Till next time, CapTrackers!

Lex goes mobile!

image

The Lex-asaurus has finally risen from his fossil-y grave and has caught up with the times. I can now post from my mobile phone! :D What with my hectic schedule of work, Xbox Live, Netflix, Facebook, and Twitter, I sometimes find it hard to post as often as I should. Now that I have this handy, dandy app, posting should be much easier and a lot more frequent.

Mobile posts might not be as lengthy or as detailed as normal posts, but they should cover all the important stuff that you need to know. We’ll see how this works out. Until next time, keep an eye out…

P.S. The Droid camera sucks!
