When having only one brand isn’t enough to express one’s ideals. Cast Shadow is a brand new headwear brand created by the guys over at Bloodbath to further testify their message to the world. Although new, from the looks of their very first lookbook, you can already see the quality put into every cap. Just as Bloodbath’s tees are something to keep a lookout for, Cast Shadow is also bound for the very same success. Keep an eye out for more from this company.

We stand by our actions, not by words or aesthetics. As our reputation grows, our shadows lengthen. The more light we receive, the larger our silhouette becomes.

When you combine N*E*R*D/The Neptunes artist Pharrell Williams with BAPE creator Nigo, you get 2 of the hottest brands today that have redefined streetwear. Billionaire Boys Club stresses that just because one has money, it does not make said person rich. One must be rich in soul to live a wealthy life. (But it helps if you’re a little fat in the wallet. Especially if you want to buy BBCs.) Ice Cream is a very colorful brand with catchy designs that stand out. Their designs are flashy and will catch the eye of almost every onlooker. To check out more of their styles, visit their websites.

Aplomb is a small DC area clothing company that, according to it’s history, acts as a comunity service team for art groups and sports teams in the DC area. They try to encourage people to let loose their artistic and sporty side by sponsoring various events, competitions, and even donating to various causes. How noble of this company to invoke such active and creative behavior for our DC residents. It’s even better that they make their own fitted caps. Their selection isn’t that big, but the little they have still gets the job done. If you see this underdog company being sold anywhere, show your support by buying a couple of their items. Because they’re always showing support for our future creative geniuses and athletic prodigies.

LRG stands for “Lifted Research Group” and not “LARGE.” The fact that one of LRG’s logos is a tree kinda made me wonder what the true meaning of the word “lifted” means. But then I went to their site. That cleared up a lot of confusion. Also filled me with a little bit of disappointment. LRG’s style mainly consists of a lot nature oriented designs. Trees, plants, animals, the elements, and such. LRG’s main mission with these designs is to inspire. To inspire our culture to express themselves freely and to free man’s creativity from the shackles of mainstream thought. They inspire positive creativity in all of us. A VERY powerful and moving company LRG is. The majority of their caps, if not 100%, are New Eras. Karmaloop.com is a major retailer of all things LRG. So check them out. Get lifted…

The definition of “triumvir,” according to Merriam-Webster, is “one of a commission or ruling body of three.” How that correlates with this brand is beyond me. What I do know is that Triumvir’s style is heavily influenced by the forceful collectives and iconic figures of power from our past. More so, the great Roman Empire and the Caesars during their rule. (Hence all the Latin.) Triumvir’s apparel denotes heavy uses of black, Latin phrases, images of powerful icons during history, war, fear, and Chun-Li… Capwise, Triumvir deals mostly with Estate LA. Their caps express as much as a statement as their graphic tees, and that’s saying a lot. Check ‘em out. “Carpe diem.“

Huf started out as a skateboard boutique in San Francisco and ultimately ended up becoming a skateboarding apparel empire. Huf used to be the best place to go in San Francisco to buy skate threads. Now it’s one of the best brands of skate threads you can buy in the country. Capwise, Huf’s cap collection is VERY diverse. Their caps come in all shapes, sizes, colors, and New Era 59Fifties. There’s too much information and products to put in this post so visit the site for as much info as you want.

The Shadow Conspiracy shows us that there is a darker side to BMX. This brand looks like it just came out of a Rob Zombie film. The Shadow Conspiracy’s style consists of the heavy use of black, lots of skeletons, death, decay, and of course their trademark, ravens. Or crows… Whatever bird is in their logo. Alongside making accessories for bikes, they also make accessories for your head. The Shadow Conspiracy makes their own fitted caps, snapbacks, and on rare occations collabs with New Era. They don’t have an online store, but there are a couple of boutiques and online shops that sell this brand.

MESS Beijing is a Chinese company (obviously) that has built quite a name for themselves in the streetwear scene in Asia. They’re a retailer of some of the more popular brands in the US and distribute them all throughout China. Although they mainly sell apparel from different companies such as Kidrobot, Vans, and Staple, they also have their own MESS brand products as well. Capwise, while they do make their own snapbacks, MESS can also be seen collabing with New Era. The New Eras have been LONG sold out though, so good luck on that. Hopefully there will be a re-up of some sort. Until then, the snapbacks should do.

Crooks and Castles is for anybody who knows that for one to achieve greatness, one must make “sacrifices.” This brand was built from the ground up and represents anybody who has had to lie, cheat, steal, and push to make it to the top. For crooks, basically. Dennis Calvero, creator of Crooks and Castles, has taken his experiences as a kid growing up in the mean streets of LA, along with his creativity, and turned them into what you see today. If you’ve had to struggle through life to get your “castle” then this is the brand for you. Can’t stop the crooks.
